For what it’s worth on the Accutrons- I know it’s been discuses before but just want to remind anyone who doesn’t have one- these are not a run-of-the-mill service. They are not a standard mechanical movement, nor are they a quartz- they are tuning fork.
My watchmaker who is a 40+ year veteran got rid of his specialized Accutron equipment years ago due to lack of demand (and now the demand goes back up as they are once again becoming desirable) so has declined working on them. He said he can service a 218 without the equipment by feel, but the 214 absolutely requires specialized equipment- and parts are only available by the used or collector network.
Also, they were orginally designed to operate on a specific 1.35v battery which is no longer available. Adapters for the 214 are available but the voltage is still an issue (modern button batteries are 1.55v). The tuning fork movement can be recalibrated to operate at 1.55v but that requires modification by a skilled watchmaker.
There are a few watchmakers left that do specialize in these- but you have to know who they are, and if they are willing to take on new work. It’s not a matter of if they will need service, it’s when.
