It’s past my point of patina, but it is attractive and at $165, it’s not a bad deal- can use it as-is manually wound unless your anal enough to get a parts movement for the rotor assembly - which btw, I have done- had a lovely bumper Gruen that someone had removed the rotor- it bugged me despite working fine. I spent more on the parts movement than I did the watch- but now it’s complete
I’m not going to lie- I have been tempted to get this one. You know I enjoy taking cameras apart and repairing them, I have been kicking the idea of learning to do the same on older watch movements. Relaxing the missing parts and bringing this one back has sounded intriguing to me.
I know there isn't much love for quartz on here, but how's this for a nice little 80's Vacheron inspired Certina. Looks NOS to me. https://www.ebay.de/itm/224259214416Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Ooof no U.S. shipping. I would of tried lol. I love some of these 70-80s quartz with the integrated bracelets. If I could go back in time and pick up an Oysterquartz for $1200 that would be nice.
Black strap came in. Added to the Benrus. Ebay bargain purchase now complete. Dang these look great on black.
One for the UK crowd but seems to have worldwide shipping option. Great piece of late 60's/early 70's for next to nothing. Sellers says is running smoothly. Crazy that it has best offers open aswell considering price... Great(stainless steel) case shape and always love those blocky markers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373373987062Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Nice looking gold-filled 50's Wittnauer. Dial doesn't seem to be refinished, It's running and it's cheap. Someone jump on this! https://www.ebay.com/itm/284100479976Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
This is a modern reissue of the David Scott Bulova quartz watch that was worn on the moon. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/moon-watch-sells-for-$1million I have tried one of these on and it is big (44mm), but doesn't feel ridiculous. Perhaps it wears more like 42. It is a cool watch. Make a low ball offer if you are interested, I think the price is a little high for used. The bracelet is pretty nice, but I would put it on a Velcro NASA replica strap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Bulova-lunar-pilot-chronograph-/284098401402?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
It is a surprisingly faithful replica, same size and everything. Plus you save round about $1.3 million going with the replica over the original.
Scratch that particular recommendation, I just noticed it was an auction. Do a search on "Bulova Lunar Pilot" can easily be had for the low $300s maybe even upper $200s.
