HuDu?
You do.
Do what?
Remind me of a man

This is a lovely chrome plated Vantage (Hamilton). 34mm (all dial so will wear well on any wrist) stunning sunburst dial with silver outer track and bright perfect lume pips, faceted indices so they play the light- this is a really clean design that’s timeless, elegant and sporty. Seller has make offer so let’s see who can get this for lunch money.

Would "Vantage" be the Hamilton equivalent of Bulova's Caravelle line?

Got another Benrus D-Day reissue. Seller says “used” but condition says otherwise- that caseback doesn’t have a mark on it and that factory strap looks unworn. Asking isn’t bad for what these seem to be going for these days- particular since it looks like NOS even though the seller doesn’t say that. An offer around $200 would be nicer. I am wondering if it has the soft-case and box considering the condition.

After some back and forth counter offers this was bought for $150. Seems like a steal but I will have to see how it runs. 😀

Now that is a steal! That’s what I paid for one of mine years ago.
It’s most likely been sitting for 2 decades, but it’s an ETA so anyone can give it a clean and lube.

+1 for the MC. Read more here...

Omega really upped their game with the whole beta21 thing. And don’t forget the Megasonic which is insanely complicated. Jewels bouncing in a box...I kid you not. Google it. The f2.4mill Connies are supremely at the top of the electronic 1970s mountain. I love (and have them) all. But god help us if one goes wrong....
Inspired to make my first post on this excellent thread by the above (and related) comments. Due to financial considerations I finally chose to limit my watch interest to the 60/70’s era, dress watches primarily interspersed with the wonderful big Seiko chronographs. Sold off the quartz items and won’t go back EXCEPT for the Megaquartz variants and of course the sublimely insane Megasonic. Still waiting on a good one (working that is) and in the meantime I keep myself happy with a growing assortment of hummers.
Great thread, but honestly I don’t know where you guys find the time!!

Welcome aboard! Some of us have workflows that require long periods of waiting for tasks to complete, or waiting for clients (because our time is not as valuable as theirs), or have bad habits that put us outside with a drink/coffee and our phone. Basically it soothes the OCD and need to constantly keep ourselves occupied for fear of sitting with our thoughts too long.....overshare?

Nice stainless Wyler with twisted lugs- I have a black dialed one like this. Nice little watch that actually wears larger than you think thanks to the big dial and 16mm lugs. Crystal looks like hell but should wet-sand out and dial looks nice. Seller says runs which is a good start.

Calling all Bulova Accutron experts! I have just begun my journey of research, but I'm impressed by what I'm finding so far...question is...is this a good value, fitting for the condition, or am I off base? Previous posts indicate this is a reputable seller, and they seem to have a large inventory of very nice condition pieces. Jump, or beware?

An interesting read if you, like I, are new to these. I do know, if they need work, you'd better track down the right watchmaker with specific skills, so these come with a certain amount of responsibility (aka 'stewardship') if you wish to keep them operational for the long haul.

Without even opening the link, I can tell you that this is a Ludmil Balevski watch. He is a Bulgarian watchman/ Accutron specialist who lived in Canada for many years, but is now back in Bulgaria. I have not bought from him, but he has a good reputation if you search around. His prices are good considering he services the watches. You can recognize him as the seller because the way he holds the watch and aligns the minute hand with the crown. He always does this with the 218s that have a crown at 4:00. Also, nearly all of the spaceviews he sells are conversions. Nothing wrong with that, but just be aware that is what you are getting.

Should also say he has two eBay accounts. One is Canadian the other not (can't remember for sure but I think based in Bulgaria). Search Accutrons enough and you will see both.

Thank you @wagudc! Now, time to search 'spaceview conversions' to understand a bit more.

If I have the history correct, the spaceview was the window model of the Acutron, so folks could see the new tech. Everyone wanted the “spaceview” so bulova started to make them for the consumer market. Many folks with regular dialed Acutrons took them in to be converted into spacviews. So same watch, but different value to collectors, and the factory spaceviews can have a tidier look than some the conversions from what I have seen. I was lucky to score a factory spaceview last year

That's what I was figuring, so thanks for the confirmation Yoda! I'm intrigued...might need to do a little digging to learn more. These seem to be an engineering marvel that I need to explore a bit more.

Side note: It's precisely the testing, engineering, etc. that went in to the Speedmaster that tipped me over the edge to invest my hard earned cash in watches...has been a slippery slope since, and I have accumulated far more than I would have ever dreamed possible since.
