Yup- they are cool. It looks like there should have been a medallion of some kind in the inset, but I have only found one with some kind of cartouche- they always seem to be blank in the middle like that.
Pretty clean Bulova. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264902237061
I low balled and got it. Sorry Dave
How much?
Saw that- nice looking, but the rust on the hands puts me off. The dial looks great though.
It always seems the ones that are scuffed haves great hands while ones like these always have rusty hands but great dials 👎
I low balled and got it. Sorry Dave
A question on the Skylight.
Is the Crystal also faceted on some versions?
Also as to the case backs with inletting but no sign of a medallion, could that have been due to some copyright issue during a period when the brand changed hand?
Could some have been sold without the medallion to allow customising on special order? Could these have been replacement backs due to the probability of damage to a faceted back by a watch maker not familiar with the brand using the wrong tool or the tool being prone to slip because of the unusual shape?
I noticed a Japanese seller listed a Technos Skylight as a "vintage Seiko", did Seiko ever have a hand in manufacturing these during the period when Technos was a Japanese brand?
I love that you are getting so into these- YOU my friend- should become the resident Technos expert!
I haven't got my first one yet, though I've come within a RCH of pulling the trigger on these several times, not sure why I hesitated so long.
The question of some having no medallion while others do is one of the mysteries I'd like to solve before I commit to obtaining one.
