    Hi,
I have a speedmaster case which I assumed to be 145.012, but because it has the short 105.012 pushers, I wondered which reference it really is.

Can you guide me to how to differentiate a 105.012 case from a 145.012?

I am obviously speaking of the case's shape, and not the engravings on the caseback.

    Thanks!

Do you mean just the mid-case, no pushers etc? As you say, the 105 has shorter pushers and most have two facets on the edge of the caseback. Otherwise I think the actual mid-case is the same with the exception of the CB made cases from '66 with the vertical facet on the lugs.

Yes, exactly the mid case (not pushers or the case back).
I assumed there was a difference in the shape of the lugs. Was I wrong?

Apart from the CB case, I think all the 60's HF made, twisted lug cases are the same. As you get into the 70's I think the position of the holes for the spring bars moved a bit but we're talking very small differences here.
