Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and reasonably new to collecting watches. I collect them because of my fascination to the mechanics, style and history.
I'm writing because i have recently purchased a 1940s Omega. It was somewhat of a gamble as not enough pictures and information was forthcoming from the seller, yes I know a no, no in purchasing terms.
Still I went ahead and this is what I recieved.
Ref 2214-7
30T2 PC
Size 32.4mm
Looking into the history, it all seems to fit, but would like your opinion on the watch as I am no expert, good or bad news is ok.
The only markings on the back of the case are engraving from 1949 from mum and dad to their son.
The dial may not be to everyone's taste but I like it, and it keeps very good time. The main hands look to have been replaced along with the crystal at some point. It also looks like it was serviced by a person using chisels at one point by some of the marks. I like the watch and plan to wear the watch often if it is not a complete fake.
Id really appreciate hearing your comments.
Thanks in Advance
Christian

Given that it has likely been around for 75 years and those cases aren't exactly moisture proof that's not in bad shape.

Enjoy it!

I'd say you answered your questions already.

Looks pretty cool on the wrist... Wear it often and in the best of health! 馃榾

That鈥檚 a nice watch. Dial looks legit to me, and also hands could be.
Have it serviced and wear in good health 馃槈

I thought perhaps the main hands looked too clean compared to the second hand, which has signs of corrosion. But even happier if they are genuine. Once again thanks for the feedback.
