·Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a vintage WWII-era Omega watch on Chrono24 and I’m hoping the community can help me authenticate it.
My main concern is that the watch arrived in what appears to be a Chinese-made box, which doesn’t seem right for a piece of this age and origin. This has raised some doubts about its authenticity.
I’m attaching photos of:

∙ The caseback
∙ The movement
∙ The serial number
∙ The box it came in
Could anyone with experience in vintage Omega pieces help me determine if this is genuine? Any red flags or green lights based on the photos would be greatly appreciated.

Les montres réf. 2292 fournies à la Royal Air Force étaient généralement codées par le ministère de l'Air avec une numérotation militaire sur le dos extérieur. Si certains exemplaires de ces modèles ont vu leurs marquages effacés, d'autres, comme la montre présentée ici, n'ont jamais été gravés. Comme c'est le ministère de l'Air qui codait les montres, la raison pour laquelle certaines n'ont pas été gravées n'est pas certaine - peut-être certaines ont-elles dû être remises au personnel de service avant de pouvoir être gravées.

12 mm d'épaisseur au centre du verre
18 mm de largeur de bracelet/épaisseur des cornes

Original Omega rare production of this piece for the British Government, reference UK2292 with magnesium alloy case, Caliber 30T2SC, original condition, never restored, mechanical good working.
Ref. 2292 watches supplied to the Royal Air Force were usually coded by the Air Ministry with military numbering to the outside back. While some examples of these models have had their markings erased, others, such as the present watch, were never engraved. As the Air Ministry coded the watches themselves, the reason that some were not engraved is not certain - perhaps some had to be released to service personnel before they could be engraved.
