What are your concerns?
Not purchased a preowned watch before and it’s definitely my biggest purchase so I just want it to be 100% right. I personally can’t see anything obviously wrong so just wanted a second opinion!

To answer your question directly, "is it real, or is it fake?", that is definitely an authentic Omega Speedmaster Professional watch, not some Chinese clone or something. It appears to be a reference ST 345.0022 (PIC code 3570.50), with superluminova hands/dial, so post-1997 production. Whether it is exactly what its advertised to be, or if it is all original, if it is operating correctly, when it had its last service, and whether the price is fair given its overall condition none of us can say given the lack of additional information. I don't see anything particularly off from the pics based on a cursory look. I will mention, that if this is your first Speedy, you may want to take into consideration that many of us prefer the earlier reference that used Tritium for the lume material, which can have a very attractive patina compared to the stark white superluminova, and can be had at similar prices. Just a thought.

Looks like it may be short a few links which is common, especially on watches coming from Asia. Something to be aware of.

My concern is that it appears to be post 1999 Luminova production ( my notes are 99 not 97), but it has a lug serial number and no laser etched hippocampus which puts it at a very narrow range. I just want to confirm that everything matches for him.

Thank you everyone. I did notice the lack of laser globe. I’ve read from a couple of people that the 2007 model sometimes didn’t have that engraved so might be completely normal.

I’m with the 1997 date for the lume change too. Late ‘97 though. I actually had a SL lume 3570.50 with cards dated 1998 so it wasn’t as late as 1999 IMO. Not definitive I realise, but persuasive.
