There's nothing like rationalising and downsizing is there??....I've learnt now that it is a fruitless exercise...the last time I tried I sold two, then bought 8...in a week

I've managed to cull the herd lately, even while buying more. I have become quite brutal about selling watches that I don't enjoy wearing as much or as often for whatever reason. Those empty slots do beckon though...
My kids have a college fund. If I (or we, not sure yet how to persuade her) decide that one goes to college... Perhaps hold The Voice like auditions to determin who.... Then more buying power would be unlocked!
So I now have two in the pipeline. That makes three in 2017. Problem with OF is that you think " I'm interested in ........" and magically a PM arrives or a for sale sign gets posted. I need a culling ... any thoughts on how to be brutal? Everytime I try, I find a candidate, decide to wear it for a few days, fall in love again and back into the box it goes.
That's known as Squirrel disease. You have to be very careful, I've seen it wipe out whole collections.
