I was fortunate to be able to pick up a Speedy that up until a couple of months ago I didn't realize existed. It is a BA145.0039 from the very early eighties and a Apollo 11 commemorative edition which some initially thought was a Apollo 11 10 year anniversary edition but the recent school of thought is that it was to recognise the re-certification of the Speedmaster for the space program as it went into the space shuttle era. The watch is numbered but not a limited edition however only 280 were made in yellow gold and 20 in white gold.

Yep, I was looking at that one. A dealer in Greece. I inquired, but got side tracked, then went back and it was gone.

So jealous. That edition in both flavors are so good looking. Of the 2 yellow gold dials I love the thinner hour markers on this one.
