I think it would interest everyone to know that this dial was purchased from an extremely well respected OF member whose name everyone here would immediately know. I have purchased other rare parts from him, as well.
It would be interesting to hear from said OF member. Perhaps you should make him aware of this thread.

He has been following it very closely, as have I.

If he has been following, when will he chime in? Maybe I'm too cynical but if the well-respected OF member has information that would vindicate you, why the silence?

Unless this person has sold you that dial described as a super-super unique prototype unicorn, this useless information won’t affect his reputation nor won’t it make your reprint dial look any better.

Negatory. It was sold to me as an original authentic factory unrefinished unadulterated Omega NOS dial.

Well, hopefully they thought it was exactly as they described it when it was sold to you. now it seems it is a redial, so they can offer you a refund and all is good. Everyone makes mistakes, it's how you deal with them, that is the important thing.

I don’t think it’s a redial. I think Omega did a lot of small runs for service parts. It’s a service dial in my eyes. At the end of the day there is no way to know. Hell it could be a prototype or proof dial but, the odds are the same as me ever getting the chance to drive an F1 car. Sure it could happen but all signs say no.

Even if it is a prototype no collector will ID it that way as logic and the signs strongly point in another direction. Hence with no proof it will never be valued as a prototype.

Well, I certainly learned a few things on this thread. I'm grateful for it, however it works out in the end.

No way this could be a service dial. Your belief is already negated by your logic. Believing this a service dial is the same as believing this a prototype.

Look again at the picture comparison in my previous post and find some service examples that so far below in quality compared to original.
