Movado Datron Pilot HS360- El Primero
the time splitter

The "Pilot" is a great, massive oversized chronograph/diver’s model with the Zenith El Primero automatic movement with date function.

Movado marketed it to the Pilot as the "newest of Movado's self-winding chronographs, this professional pilot's watch: Splits elapsed time into tenths of a second and tracks it up to 12 hours. Keeps time within a minute a month. Zones time to give you local time and international time zones at a glance. Converts time into speed instantly. The tachometer reads the speed of any object moving through a known distance. Calendars time, automatically gives you the date of the month. DATRON PILOT by Movado. With a stainless steel case individually tested to an underwater depth of 330 feet, non-reflective mineral crystal treated for scratch resistance and stainless steel bracelet. $295."

According to my research, only 500 examples of the Movado Datron Pilot were produced by Movado during the late 1960's - early 1970's. This Movado was produced during the period Zenith and Movado began working together. As a result the Movado Pilot houses the Zenith 3019PHC movement.

The Movado Datron Pilot Chronograph is hard to find especially in original condition. This is a classic 70's design with a cool stainless steel bracelet made specifically for this model and the oversized case makes this a unique chronograph. Big and Bold, its built like a tank and makes it presence known on the wrist.

This example is not mint, buts in nice condition and all original. It shows signs of use and has aged gracefully.

MODEL:
Movado Datron Pilot HS360
Reference: 01-0160-435
Size: 43mm

CASE & BRACELET:
The case of this Movado Datron Pilot is in very nice condition, it appears to retain all original finishes and edges. There are numerous small scratches, dings and marks typical of a nearly 50 year old watch. The original and unique Movado Swiss made block bracelet with flip-lock clasp (marked 1672 on the clasp end) and original ZR end links are also in nice condition with little to no stretch, but signs of typical use. The bi-directional bezel is in similar condition showing no cracks and the tritium arrows at the 12 o'clock position has aged to a nice yellow. It rotates easily and clicks at each position. Has an original large, dome shaped and signed crown. The flat mineral crystal appears to be original and has scratches and pits typical of its age. The watch is not mint, it shows typical signs of use. If you are looking for a mint example, this is not it...but overall its a very nicely preserved original example in great condition.
Case back shows wear and scratches. The engravings on the case back are clearly visible and include the reference number 01-0160-435.

MOVEMENT:
The movement is a Movado stamped, Zenith 3019PHC El Primero. The famous movement is in nice condition and was recently overhauled by a El Primero specialized watchmaker.

DIAL & HANDS:
The original dial remains in excellent condition, however, the inner bezel does show wear along the top edge which is typical for this model. The original hands are in nice condition and the lume has also aged to a yellow, matching the original dials hour markers and the bezel arrow. The tritium lume on the dial and the hands illuminates evenly when viewed under U.V. light.

The watch was recently serviced and is running correctly. The chronograph functions and resets to zero.
As the watch is nearly 50 years old It is sold with no warranty and is sold AS-IS. Sale is final, unless my description is completely inaccurate. The photos are part of the description, so please view them at full resolution.
