Rare mirror dial? (Seamaster Megaquartz)

Hello to everyone!
A few weeks ago I spotted what I thought to be a dark grey dialed Omega Seamaster Megaquartz at a very good price (150 euro) so I took a chance and bought it even though the pictures were not very good.
When it arrived, I had a very nice surprise seeing that the dial is actually like a mirror. I personally never saw one like this and I was wondering if this dial variation is rare. If yes, will this add to the watch value? How much? Thank you!

The mirror dial can be found on several "electronic" watches from this period. There were Speedsonics coming with this mirror dial as well and I once owned some of them. It was a contemporary style, but not really rare IMO.

If you do some web research, you'll find other examples.

That鈥檚 the only one I found and another one with square dial. I thought they were rare 馃榿

I guess it's more that not so many of them survived or are shown in the web... But the mirror dial isn't uncommon at all.

You've got a very nice example there. Enjoy! 馃榾

Thank you very much! It appears to be unpolished. The bezel has a sunburst finish but I also saw a few with glossy ones. I鈥檓 guessing the sunburst finish is the original one.

From your pictures, your watch looks modestly worn and unpolished to me. 馃槈

Ive only seen a mirror dial on speedsonic lobsters. They are prone to moisture damage so finding a pristine one is hard to do. I cant say I have seen one on this reference before.

I鈥檝e only found one online with this case type and another one with square case so I presumed it is rare 馃榾

It's rare in the sense that few models had that mirror dial option, 3 from the top of my head (don't have the case numbers, sorry) , this one, the lobster Speedsonic and the Seamaster 1310. The latter even having a chromium colored dial for the plated version. But thousands of these were made and they often pop up so that's not rare.

Now a desk clock with the 1526 caliber that's popped up twice on rBay in ten years, that's rare ;-)

Thank you for making things clear even for a novice like me!

Very cool watch, i love it! But then I would....

They are indeed pretty rare, took me years to find mine. Value wise I don't think their rarity adds much value over the more common dial variants.

You got a lovely bargain there BTW. I paid more than that for mine and it was in a very sorry and non running state. I spent a small fortune having it serviced/refurbished.

Wow! What a wonderful watch you have there!
Did you had it polished? The case looks immaculate! Mine has some scratches 馃檨
