Why would a solotempo watch have TWO simultaneous second hands? Double reference could give a hint?

No, its because the watch is a franken watch.

While we can't tell exactly what is inside the watch, the movement has parts from 2 different movements, at least. For example, this could have a cal 265 movement (which was designed with a center sweep hand) but some used a fourth wheel from another movement (like a cal 267) which had an extended pinion. I don't know if you would also need to replace the 4th wheel lower jewel, but the result would be a watch on which you can fit both a sweep and a sub seconds hands.

The watch did not leave the factory this way, so this is a "custom" creation made up of parts from different watches.

…… and they didn't even have the decency to synch the second hands. ::rant:

So you really think they made the effort to make both second hand run?? Why, one may ask...

I think it´s a sweep sec calibre inside, and the sub second is a dummy

I think whoever put that together is a dummy.

I have seen one of these before. And if I remember correctly, it was as Joe says and
both hands worked. But definitely franken. I'll see if I can find it.

There were some prototypes of this type of watch in AJTT. The movement issue aside, that's a nice looking uncommon original white ranchero dial.

it certainly has %99.9 chances of being a frankie than a prototype, as there is no aesthetical nor functional reason to have a watch with two second hands and be unable to operate at least one of them. Let me take a look at the caliber. I m not informed about it, but thought that having double ref could have something to do. Also could be just a caseback with both stamps and period.

It is common to find 2 ref ## in Omega case backs as the case was used for both refs...

By this type of watch I meant simultaneous center and subseconds not ranchero - The fact this is in a ranchero IMO makes it a non-factory original watch.
