Saw this watch on the saleroom. I’m not looking to buy it but I wondered what you guys opinions were on it since a Ranchero presented to someone from the RAF would surely be a great addition to any vintage Omega collector if correct. Obviously the hands are wrong and dial looks a bit too fresh for a 50s watch. just something I found interesting and thought I’d bring it to the attention of the forum. Will be interesting to watch the bidding. hope your all well and staying safe! cheers HH link: https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/...0031/lot-ebac08c1-900d-4211-b3a2-abac00f6cd0e
There appears to be different dial and hand configurations on this model (2996) however this one is missing a central seconds hand typical of this reference. Dial looks to have had the lume removed. Nice case back inscription. Here’s another for sale, no air force connection though https://www.visionvintagewatches.com/product-page/1958-omega-ranchero-2996-1-lollipop
And this one with different dial configuration https://www.chrono24.com/omega/ranchero-ref2996-1-sc--id6467596.htm and picture
