Purchased this a few years ago so unusual to see a gold plated Ranchero, a few people questioned it so I thought stuff it I'll shell out on an extract of the archives. I'm so pleased I did. I even doubted it myself at times, I could never find one exactly the same. I send Omega just case number and movement number and They confirmed it was a Rachero. I know it's probably not worth as much as it's steel counter parts but I love a rarity.
that is really cool. have never seen such a piece before. strange cause as far as I know the steel Omega Ranchero 2990-1 was made from 1957 until 1958 and sold from 1958 until 1959.
I've seen a few gold plated Rancheros over the years. Far less common, but definitely real. Here is one I used to own:
Spain has to be the world center of gold plated or capped watches. For some reason they seem to be more common there.
Here is mine. Unfortunately the dial has some discolouration and the hour plots have deteriorated a little. Nonetheless, the textured dial makes it very unusual.
