Hello. I have a 58 CK2996 Ranchero on leather . I understand that they also came with a steel bracelet. Can anyone tell me a) what an original looks like and b) a likely route into getting hold of one.

Diolch…….

The original correct bracelet for the Ranchero is the Flatlink 7077. You can see it in my video HERE at the 3:25 time mark.
The correct end piece to fit the Ranchero case perfectly is the #4.
Another option is later and not period-correct 1035 flatlink bracelet which you can see in my other video HERE at 2:35 time stamp.
The correct end piece is the 630 end piece.
I plan to do a comparison video between the 2 bracelets in the near future.

Although incorrect, a modern option that works very well and looks great on the Ranchero is the Omega 3010 five row beads of rice bracelet with a pair of 512 end links, both of which can be ordered by any independent watchmaker with an Omega parts account. This is also a far less expensive option than the 7077 or the 1035. Here’s what that combination looks like on my Ranchero:

Are you sure the #4 were supposed to work with the ranchero cases? I always thought #7 were a much better fit

OK, I heard back from my expert friend:
"
I don’t think #7 will fit….
7 is for Seamaster or something which has shorter lugs, I think.

I haven never seen an original Ranchero advertisement with bracelet so I’m not sure. Many of them were sold with brown leather band.

More info from my friend about the #7 vs. #4 end links for the Ranchero:
"
Here are side by side photos of #7 and #4.
You can post them on OF if you wish.
Apparently different sizes and thus 7 will not fit Ranchero.
I suppose 7 is for late 60’s or early 70’s Geneve or Deville.

Sorry for the bad pictures, nighttime here and light is horrible but here is my 2996 with a 7912 and #7 endlinks

Curvature is perfect. On the other hand, I have never managed to get such a nice fit with #4 endlinks and I have 3 or 4 sets lying around (not all similar btw) 😅

OK, well then, I (and my friend) stand corrected! It looks like a great fit....thank you for the heads up!

Since responding to this post earlier, I have been gaining much more experience with the different options for fitting original Omega 18mm flat link bracelets to the 2990/2996 case. I will update this thread with my upcoming YouTube video on the subject, but suffice it to say, I have to tip my hat to fellow member @Dsplash who previously mentioned the #7 end links as being the best fit. Although the radius of the link on the back is a bit too wide for the caseback, the top profile fits the lug shape much, much better than the #4 end links that fit much better on the back (the side you don't see!). Rather than photos, I'll add a link to my video. which will show all the options I've tried. If you want the best fit on top and on bottom, then the #630 is the best fit, however, it doesn't look as integrated due to the shape of the female cut out in for the center link. Also, I have found that the #630 is not compatible with the older bracelets like the 7077 and 7912.
