No affiliation with the seller - but saw this the other day listed on chrono24 https://www.chrono24.com/omega/rail...dard-165002-1963-cal-552--id12335993.htm#gref also now on eBay here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Rail...172676?hash=item4b6baeeac4:g:OiMAAOSwjzddjQlJPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network If it is genuine it would be nice addition to the collection but the price is a bit out of range. I know there were several variations of these dials but all examples I have seen previously have SWISS MADE at the lower edge of the dial. This one says "T SWISS MADE T"? These dials never contained tritium = maybe the hands? It also is missing the 4 digit case number on the back - or at least not visible in the photos. Possibly polished away (seller does say "slightly polished caseback")
I've spoken to this seller and was less than thrilled with his practices. I'll leave it at that...... this was long before I seen him on chrono24. On a side note, I love this watch and it would be a great addition to anyones collection. I've only seen two other people with this watch before (both is better condition, no yellowing like this one) I'm not expert but I'd say this is fairly rare to come up for sale. Edit * of the two I know of, they just say swiss made, nothing else on the bottom at 6 o'clock
Depending on the vintage of the watch, the railroad it was used on, and the time standards on that railroad, luminous hands and dials have often been forbidden. That specification had been relaxed by the time this one was produced.
More information and discussion in this old thread. OPs watch also does not have the typical black leaf hands... https://omegaforums.net/threads/railroad-official-standard-“railmaster-official”.59796/
I recently sourced a 24 Hour dial, 165.002 Railroad Official Standard, not the OP example. A bit more interesting info is here https://omegaforums.net/threads/railroad-official-standard-“railmaster-official”.59796/page-3#post-1694227
