Mrs Gemini4 needed a new travel watch, sized for her petite wrist with easy to see numerals. This Ball Trainmaster seems to fit the need. 1960’s vintage I believe. 34mm, Automatic Movement, 24 Hour Canadian Railroad Dial American made but Swiss components. “SWISS” under the 6. Nice condition, all original per the seller. In the 1960’s, Omega tried to copy the Ball look but was legally forced to stop. https://thespringbar.com/blogs/guides/omega-railmaster-a-collector-s-guide Here’s the new arrival.
Lol, I hit “10,000 likes” on a Non Omega thread Thanks OFers! Ball started making Railroad timepieces in the 1890’s. Here you can see the Faraday Anti Magnetic Cage. Similar to the Railmaster although I suspect the Ball shield is steel. The Railmaster shield is thicker and is made of iron. Railmaster Iron Cage
Does anyone know how to date these old Automatic Ball RR Officials? of the two dial designs below did one precede the other or were they manufactured / available during the same time period?
I really like it ....... but I really wish you had’t tempted me to start collecting even more watches!
