It is the Railmaster for me. The faux patina might be controversial but looks absolutely stunning.

I just can't resist throwing this out there...tin hat time

.... I also like the "ugly-duckling" Railmaster non-LE......it is the underdog, the rebel alliance against the Empire/First Order😜

You'll be telling us next that you enjoy watching England-Germany penalty shootouts 😲

Some more underdog photos for you:-

I'm a HUGE Railmaster guy and own the new LE, but I gotta say, Rolex finally perfected the modern Explorer I with the correct hand length AND the luminous 3,6 and 9. Go for the Explorer. If you end up keeping the Railmaster, put it on a nice vintage-style leather strap (I recommend Bulang & Sons) and you'll have nice variety in your rotation. Having owned 3 of the previous generation Railmasters (2 39's and one 36), the bracelet clasp is by far the weak link in the chain, and I found that a leather strap really nicely showcased the curved lug case design.

What is better about the size in the 60th anni version? The AT RM was available in 36, 39, 41 and the frankly ridiculous 49mm so I can't see how you can hold size against it when there is so much choice.
As I mentioned, I've had both and for my wrist (6.25-6.5") I found the 36 too small and the 39 too big (due to its over-sized dial). The 38mm LE is the sweet spot for me...

Thanks for the input my friend! Great pointers. One of my favourite parts of the explorer 214270 is actually the bracelet...it's rock solid. My Railmaster, although very classy and refined, doesn't have the same ruggedness. Alas I don't think I can justify keeping both ☹️

Where did you take the photos of those Railmaster? There appear to be price tags on them and they aren't even on the U.S. Omega website yet.

Can't speak for Longbow, but I know for a fact the Miami OB has them. Only demo's and not stocking watches.

Right! They were demo models presented at the Omega Boutique in Hamburg earlier in the year (post-BaselWorld). You can see the trays of new models in the background and if you look closely at the lug on the first caseback photo you can just about make out the “not for sale” text.

Thanks Longbow and No.15. I think if you like the looks, these Railmasters are a great value with a co-axial movement. With that said, I'm a 36mm Explorer man myself.

I'm a huge fan of the new rail master but the price is insane.
I'd go Rolex and you know the value is there.

That is true, it's amazing how Rolexes hold their value. Not many material goods in this world that do that!

By the way, how do you find the bracelet on the LE?

The LE bracelet screams quality but it doesn't feel as sexy as the watch. The bracelet doesn't taper and I find it too shiny to the point that it feels like wearing a Daytona--which is not a bad thing if you want people to notice what you're wearing. With the supplied leather, the RMLE retains its understated and elegant look. I have ordered a couple of custom distressed leather straps (the OEM leather is a tad thin) and I'm expecting the RMLE to look even better on them. Either way, the RMLE will look good with any strap, much like a Moonwatch. It's an amazing piece.
