So according to the great Zaf Basha here are the production numbers for the RAF Weems watches

Omega 2000
Longines 3000
Jaeger Le Coultre 1000
Zenith 1000
Movado 1000

And god knows how many left probably a lot destroyed or at the bottom of the sea.

Here’s my all original JLC weems issued with a sterile dial for the air ministry in 1940
The stamped numbers on the dial are a mystery no one seems to know what they could be 83817
Hopefully one day the answer will come to light.

hi yes I’ve seen this and it’s a good guess and guessing is good because someday we might get close to what it actually is.
I’ve found recently in konrads book the same dial numbers and a very similar movement serial so I’m thinking there’s something interesting there, some say stores numbers but I heard a good one recently that it could be watches that passed good time keeping ? But more likely a stock a number.
Either way it’s interesting and a rare.

I am a member of mwr it’s great over there, but I think the guys have seen these questions so many times they don’t often answer.

Then you should be able to search through quite a number of threads on MWR for further insight, instead of asking them what’s already been asked repeatedly before 😉

I’ll agree that it’s a gorgeous watch retaining quite a bit of unique history.

I’m like a fine tooth comb mate I’ve searched all through the archives on there, I just think it’s been spoke about at length and people are bored now.
Cheers
