Hi Guys, picked this up in London over the weekend after a few too many beers (Really should not even enter an antique or watch store after a liquid lunch). All correct markings on the backside, dial looks clean, too clean perhaps. Any thoughts about the dial? Running great, any realistic valuations of this piece?
    Thanks.

Welcome along... where did you get it?

As to value - surely if you've just bought it, you know what you paid? ;)

General forum etiquette dictates that you get out what you put in.

    So what are your opinions?

Have you checked the movement is correct?

What has your research shown about the numbers on the back, the dial types used (and the types that were used as replacements)?

Have you been and looked (on google) at other examples out there?

    Seen what they sell for?

Seen what they look like compared to yours?

Looking forward to hearing your analysis of your piece. ::popcorn::

This is a bit misleading. While it is a MOD later dial to replace radium thin arrow, it's certainly considered kosher.

Thanks Larry I guess that is the question for me even though no doubt its a redial I am wondering if its the kosher redial and how I would find out.
The back side is perfect and crown is correct its just the dial I am a bit concerned about. Its too clean and nice but I dont mind in this instance considering its age.

These fat arrow dials have been re-made (re-issue, call it what you will) recently leading to a lot of "like new" examples hitting the market. It's hard to tell from one photo at an angle, but I strongly suspect this is a new dial.

it is a 100% correct old dial, re made by the british MoD to get rid of the Radium lume. there are omega factory dials with thin arrow from the early 90`s, which command a big premium; just like an original thin arrow dial from 1953. so, enjoy. kind regards. achim

Did you find the spring in the back to hold the inner cover down?
