路..well, almost!
This summer, I found the Mark II reissue and fell in love. I haven't been into Omega watches very long but once I found it, I began researching to find out more. Here's a pic of my precious.
The reissue was a bit out of my price range at the time (notice 'was', my tolerances to cost have gone up a lot!). So I decided to find a vintage one instead. Here's what I ended up with.
A few observations as I'm sure many of you will notice..
* After-market bracelet
* All white hands
* Service dial
* See through caseback (although I did get the original as well)
* tachy is not aligned properly
I'm guessing this was a black dial one and someone put a racing dial on it. The seller said that the person he bought it from had that hands swapped as he preferred all the hands to match. Whatever. It was cheap and somewhere to start. Obviously not worth much as a collection piece, so, off to the Omega repair shop in Toronto.
I deliberated with myself as to whether to go for a vintage restoration project or a full on overhaul. The latter option won. So Oct 31, it went to the spa for the full monty.
The watch was supposed to be back today, but I got a call saying that they were running a little behind. It should be back before end of the week though.
Stay tuned for the 'After' shots, coming soon!
