Picked up this DeVille at a garage sale .Was running and keeping time when I bought it.
It won't push the Seamaster of my wrist. But, I'd like to wear it occasionally.

I've compared it to pics of other DeVilles. It looks like other late 60's, early 70's?

So, when I do want to wear it.

Should I wind it before use?
    How many times?
Any quick way to set the date?

I go like 20 turns before wearing, with similar models, as far as I know there's no quickset but I could be wrong

Late 60's - up to '67 those had Seamaster De Ville on the dial. Rock the hands forward from 10 PM to 2 AM then backwards to 10 PM and forward to 2 AM to change the date quickly.

The 60's de Villes are really popping on the bay and elsewhere. Thank you Mr. Draper.

The Seamaster DeVille was actually a different case, which had longer lugs.

This looks like a 166.033 which should have a cal 565 which would be QS.

I'd wind it 40-50 twists, you really want to be sure the mainspring is fully charged for optimum performance.
