I've been looking for a Seamaster chrono with a cal 321. I found these two on Chrono24 that I am wondering about. The first, http://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/vi...erenceNumber=14500666$187&manufacturerIds=187 looks correct except it's listed as having a cal. 861. Since there are no movement photos, I can't confirm. The Omega database only shows that reference as having a 321. Were some made with 861? The second, http://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/se...erenceNumber=14500666$187&manufacturerIds=187 has an extract but the hour and minute hands seem incorrect and the center subdial doesn't appear to line up properly. Am I seeing this correctly?
Nice. I have requested movement photos to make sure it is a listing error. Any idea about the hands on the second one?
Same case and dial design with cal. 861 was produced, as Gemini14 said, after 1968. I don't recall that case reference number though. Yes, the hands are incorrect on the second one. Here is my 145.006!
While I'm asking, here's a 145.006-68 for sale that looks good except for the crown. Anyone see anything else that I'm missing? I know I would need to get it serviced and, being a 321, it will probably need to go to Omega. Would the crown be replaced with a correct one (assuming the unsigned one, currently on it, is incorrect)? http://forums.watchnet.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=737199&rid=0
These are cool watches and they kinda fly under the radar compared to the 176.00 series (1-5-7) but the 321 makes them special in my opinion. They were not produced with 861 that's for sure. The one you just posted looks good aside of the crown of course. It has a bit of a wabi but the serial matches the case back and the rest can be cured by a trained watchmaker. Unless you like it as it is...I know I do.
