I can not find it now, but I caught something the other day about certain Geneve Movements that had some problems. Is there a certain Caliber I should stay away from?
It's not just Genève movements since many Omegas used the same calibers. The 100x calibers had some issues, which were corrected in the subsequent 101x and 102x calibers. Even after they were fixed, most collectors would take a pre 1972 automatic from the 55x / 56x / 75x series over their later 10xx cousins. I'm not saying you should forsake all post 1972 Omegas, just realize that the movements were not the same as their older siblings. Omega (and many other manufacturers) were cheapening their calibers to compete with low cost quartz watches.
Thank you. I have been looking at a couple of them in the 3 digit caliber number. I am looking for a daily watch right now. But with that said, I think I missed out on this one. I liked it mostly I think , because of the condition! http://www.ebay.com/itm/221381572128?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
