    Hello,

I am slowly having interest in military omegas lately and I came across one of them. I wanted to know if it is original or not. I have looked for similar watches and I did not see the same example.

Here is an example sold by Hodinkee, it is the watch which looks the most alike my model. Yet the hands are not similar and the writings in general don’t look closely like my example. Moreover this watch is from the 50’s whereas the seller says that the watch I am interested in is from the 30’s.

Here are shots of the watch talked about:

The Hodinkee one is a "Fat Arrow 53" (6B/542). Its case has longer lugs and finer bezel than the other one. It is sufficient to say it is a completly different model

I do not know too much the military watches so I cannot tell you if it is a real military model or not, but 2 things for sure about this one:
    - it is not a dirty dozen, as all dirty dozen have small seconds
    - if it is a real military, it was produced after WW2 and before the Fat Arrow, so not in the 30's.

You should ask the seller from inside pic, you'll see which caliber it is and its serial number. It will help date the watch.
If the price is good and you like the watch, well, why not? But my advice is: do not expect it to be a real one, just buy it for the look

Ck2444 case but wrong dial, crown and hands => Franken

Calibre is probably wrong too but can’t tell for sure without pics

I'm new to Omega Mil watches but from my new eyes, is telling me to stay away from this one. As Lurk41 and Ludi have stated above, but this watch has way to many issues with it. The first give away is the crown. This one has been replaced for a new one and the back cover just looks way to clean to me.

CK2444 has small second. For sure it is not the correct caliber for a CK2444. But I doubt the case is a CK2444 either

It is a marriage of parts, no collector’s value. At any rate nothing to do with the 1930’s.

While WUS does have knowledgeable members here.

I would check over on the MWR forum also. They mainly discuss military models over there.

If you want help, provide the correct eBay number. Pics even better. Without: no help.
