Question: What year was the Omega Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch presentation box set first offered?

    Was it 2013?

    2014?

I was just curious regarding this...I acquired my Omega Speedmaster Pro with its presentation box set new from an AD in 2015 [pictured below]...and had believed that the presentation box set had been around for a year or two prior to 2015.

    Thanks in advance,

    Collin [Mad Dog]

Speaking of the Omega Speedmaster Pro Moonwatch presentation box...here’s a pic from inside the box with the lid fully closed...

No, sir...I purchased the 311.33.42.30.01.001 reference which is with the leather strap. So I just went to the Omega site [pictured below] and it appears as if this reference is no longer available...hmmm.

    Interesting.
I just had a look on the web.
It's still available as far as the OZ website is concerned.
Priced at $6525 with no further notations other than to contact a boutique.

I think this just means that it’s out of stock right now for immediate shipment . For example, on the US site it says that right now for the DSOTM Apollo 8, and for about a month or so late last year I had noticed that it also said it for the original DSOTM. Not that I keep obsessively visiting the Omega website or anything

A more interesting question should be: When will the shoebox be replaced by a cube crater box for the Speedmaster Moonwatch ?

On the contrary... a smaller box is the way of the future

Cos, in many instances, things were better then! For me the new (big) box doesn't add any value and I'm glad my most modern Speedy came in the 'little' red box, and, as it's dimensionally sweet, I forgive it its propensity to peel. And, yes, if I could, I'd have Windows 98, which worked supremely well for me, (though I'd agree that 3.1 was a bit 'challenging' at times).

And, like MD, if I wanted another contemporary Speedy, I'd be seeking one on a strap - aesthetically so much better to my eye.

Sold the presentation suitcase and all the paraphernalia for $400, would have much preferred a much smaller suitcase.

Can see how some don’t want the big box, I didn’t want it either. ( more for the OP that I replied to as they are one that calls for omega to release the watch that was released in 1965-7 over and over again. Last week he was leaving Omega because the 321 wasn’t going to be in the 50th anniversary LE that’s yet to be announced :whistling: )

But there is a constant wish for Omega to return to the past.

That’s not how the marketing machine of the Swiss Watch industry works.

Every reissue of any company has been same same but a little different. ( this will run out soon )

The 321 will be nothing more but a cash in on the people willing to drop way $25K+ on a speedmaster 321. Omega wants the money the dealers are taking nothing more nothing less ( mark my words )
The same as why the little watchmaker is being squeeze out so you have to have your watch serviced by Omega it’s all about money wherever they can get it.

Why are many brands setting up there own vintage section. $$

( It’s the guys like @Robert-Jan and the Fratello team that have our back with the ST releases:thumbsup: )
