Question to Community About Selling

I am not new to this forum but have not posted in a while. I want to respect the rules and read the private sales post but had a few questions.

I am quasi reluctantly selling a watch I own and wanted to know if anyone had some feed back on one of the rules.

One section of the rules mentioned to add links to two sales of either a watch or a part, unfortunately I have neither one. I have never sold a watch and wanted to know if this was a deal breaker in terms of the rules.

The watch is a Seamaster 120, amazing condish with extract.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I wasn’t aware of that rule and when I post sales listings I don’t link to my feedback or previous sales, although I have plenty.

It stands to reason that everyone needs to start somewhere so if you meet the other criteria I’d post a listing and address it head on, say it’s your first sales post and therefore cannot provide historic feedback or similar sales but you have feedback on another site etc (assuming you do).

Great advice, I appreciate the feedback.

The watch is a real stunner. I will probably get around to posting it at some point tomorrow.

If you have not sold any watch and just say so, a potential buyer may factor that into their decision, but if you have a nice watch to sell and have been on OF for a while I doubt it will be an issue.
Good luck those watches are quite popular here.

Sounds like you have listed the watch for sale on this forum.
Yes, listed it yesterday and tried to be as transparent as possible with my description. Hopefully it gets some attention.

Same here - I believe this rule was added at a later time.
....and when I post sales listings I don’t link to my feedback or previous sales, although I have plenty.
Ditto - I'm sure many are proud of their reputation as online Sellers and they include links to every single feedback received, however I prefer to deal with a buyer who exercises prudence in doing some basic research before sending money to someone they have never met in person.

Nice watch! 👍 GLWS!

Here's the rule:
"
  • A Link to 2 recent feedback on sales or purchases when listing a watch, part of WTB thread should you have feedback."

I suspect this is intended to mean this, if you have feedback from prior sales, then provide a link to your most recent two sales. If you have no sales, then of course no link is needed.

Many people have been first time buyers and sellers. Phone calls often help, or internet meetings, even for sellers with more feedback. If either person feels uncomfortable then don't move forward.

remember not to bump it more than once a day. It creates work for the mods, and people are sticklers about that.

Good luck with the sale.

I never bother with links to past sales especially since two of my last were thru watch finder and neither bothered to post a seller review here. I don’t sell much anyway. Be as transparent as possible, make the transaction easy and you will be fine.
