I'm curious to know if anyone has or has seen the dial pictured on the Speedmaster 125 manual and early ads and catalogs on a watch in the wild?

Here's the one on the manual:

And here's the one actually seen on 125's (this one is mine):

    33.378.0801ST.jpg
Note the slightly different placement of AUTOMATIC CHRONOMETER near the date. Also the one on the manual appears have a painted logo as opposed to applied metal, and the number 60 is present at 12:00. Thoughts? Pics would be awesome.

I found better pics and an article here. Direct quote from the article to prove I wasn't the one that invoked the "P word":
Editor’s note: once again, the example showed here is a prototype owned by Omega’s Museum, which has been used for several tests. That’s why the crystal is not correctly positioned. The ’60’ indication should be positioned at 12.

I was correct about the logo being painted, and am a little surprised the word OMEGA and the number 125 are painted as well. I kind of dig it. I wonder if there are any others out in the wild or if the Museum has the only one?

PS: How about the messed up tachy scale, the date changing at 10:00, and the 24 hour indicator being out of sync with the time?

Good catch, I think I have seen that picture a few times but never caught it. I blame the misplaced Tachymeter as it was too distracting :p
Also, do you have any idea if the minute hand could be correct for the 125?

    Here is mine:

I got my reply ready then went to check the museum pictures from @Privateday7, but didn't see this dial, even though there were two 125s on display then. In the mean time you posted the same picture! :)

On old-omegas.com you can find clear pictures from the manual in German and French, as well as many ads also, that showed no applied parts on this dial.

Same as the one in the manual so it should be correct.

Incorrect alignment of the crystal and the hour hand relative to date/24h wheels. Simple to adjust for a watchmaker.

Now that's a good catch! I've seen that image too but my eyes aren't good enough to tell applied from painted on it. My guess on the logo had to do with the shape.

For some reason I like that the Omega Museum hasn't bothered to correct those issues. Odd that they don't display it. I looked through a few other threads from elsewhere showing trips to the Museum and never saw that dial photographed.

I can see that the font types and the 3D shapes of the applied parts are quite different from the printed ones.

True, and now I see the applied "1" is quite different from the painted one.

Here's another picture of the same watch apparently at a different place. Must be on displayed somewhere.

I believe later service dials didn't use tritium so the "T" would be absent before/after SWISS MADE. Other than that I'm not sure. However, I think mine was re-lumed at some point. Just a hunch because the lume plots have a slight "toothpaste" application look to them.

Whoever re-lumed mine did a good job though because I can only tell from hi-res closeups. Much better than this one:

I think the greener lume plots have been in a better preserved conditions most of their lives, while the yellow ones in lesser conditions, but not relumed here. The prototype dial doesn't seem to show any sign of yellowing either.

The different backgrounds may seem to indicate different places for the pictures, but the small second hand staying at the same place on the dial may indicate otherwise. It still possible the the rotor had seized or some other reasons causing this. Maybe a contributor to monochrome-watches (who is OF member) or the author may shed some lights on these pictures.

Maybe they simply don't run these things!
