Question may get me killed lol... Movement/Dial Swap with Moonswatch

I dig the dials of certain Moonswatch's(Snoopy) but dislike the plastic case.... Since the case is is the same dimension as the Speedmaster Professional case, theoretically... can they be swapped? Asking for a friend 馃槈... lol

Apologize if this is in the wrong section... Modern Watch or Moon Swatch... its an in-betweener question.

Not easily. There's more to fitting a movement into a case than the case diameter. The keyless works have to align with the crown tube, and the pushers have to align with and fit into the case. The canon pinion has to fit the dial. And so on.

If you really want to swap out the case, the best bet would be to find a cheap homage on Ali Express that uses the VK63 movement. That's close to the MoonSwatch movement, but even there I don't think the pushers will fit, so you'll have to be creative with them.

Also, keep in mind that opening the MoonSwatch is irreversible since it necessarily requires destroying the MoonSwatch case.

Yeah, but Mr. TowBoats entire collection was fake including the MoonSwatch and metal case they were using for their conversion. They were eventually banned from the forum.

Since I joined the forum this year, I wasn't aware of who towboat is. I have to admit that was a very entertaining thread lol
