Good evening ΩF. Posted this in another thread but the topic probably needs its own. This is my new to me Conquest. As you can see it is in beautiful condition. That said I have not been able to find another late 50s (Ref 9000) example that doesn’t have the faint contrasting ring along the minute track. Of the dials I have found with the same layout/markers as mine that are also devoid of the two-tone ring, they are either a Conquest with a date complication or a later Admiral Conquest. Has anyone seen a dial like mine? I am convinced this is not a redial as are some of my local vintage enthusiast friends. But I’m interested to hear opinions on that. I don’t have a tool to open the caseback to verify serial etc and as you can see the medallion is near pristine so I’m not wanting to mess that up. Thanks for any input and sorry about the photo quality. Taken with older phone and they look better on my phone than on the forum.
I know nothing about these watches but it looks very nice - despite the picture quality you seem not satisfied with.
I don’t know about your watch but it looks like a re edition rather than a watch from 50’s , sorry if I’m mistaking as I am not an expert. The reason I say that is because I have a similar watch and case back it’s different , well it’s a different reference. Just sharing my thoughts
The subject watch is original, and in superb condition. An uncommon dial variation, but correct. Congratulations on a very nice acquisition!
The dial and case look very similar to my 1956 All Guard (albeit a different colour) which is ref 9006 and is the precursor to the Conquest. I'm trying to find a photo but struggling at the moment. Crown looks odd but then mine is a replacement so unsure on that. Nice watch and lovely condition! I prefer the simpler dials without the ring tbh.
Been traveling and just catching up. Thank you so much to all who weighed in.I am thrilled to have found this in such great condition and an uncommon variant. Thanks again -Anthony
