Several years ago (before I knew anything about watches) I was looking for the "bond" seamaster with the blue wave dial. I found a listing on ebay for the 2200.80.00 that was supposedly unworn. I bought the watch and it came with the usual stuff, inner/outer box, warranty card, metal bracelet, etc. It was pretty clear the watch had actually been worn with the stickers reapplied but since I couldn't find a mark anywhere I decided to let it slide as the watch was long out of production. I loved the watch and immediately put it into regular rotation. I recently noticed it has the reference 2920.80.91 listed on it's card, which I believe came with a rubber strap and not the metal bracelet. Why would somebody sell it with the metal bracelet instead? Is my watch a fake? What's most likely going on? I still love it and wear it regularly. The blue wave dial is just gorgeous. Here are a couple pics including a nato I recently put on it. Thanks so much for your help, this forum has been teaching me so much!
Watch looks real. Does the serial number on the watch match the card? In that case most likely a previous owner bought a metal bracelet along the way and got rid of the rubber strap. Was the previous owner the original buyer of the watch or did they also buy it pre-owned?
