However I’m stuck with brands with a « big spread » between the brand new and vintage prices 😀

What does this mean? You will only buy a vintage watch from a brand whose modern watches are much more expensive? That is one of the silliest criteria I've ever heard, it makes absolutely no sense. What about brands that don't even exist anymore, or zombie brands that are now making crap? Some really excellent and collectible vintage watches fall into this category.

Maybe I didn’t express myself well but I mean only brands I couldn’t afford a brand new one for now. I’m
the kind who doesn’t like buying second hand / used things (sorry nobody is perfect 😀 ). Except if the watch is a gift and in this case there is a sentimental value whatever is the brand. So if I buy a vintage watch, it means I may sell it soon or later. So I can also see it like a medium/ long term investment.

Even if of course the main reason I buy a watch is to wear and enjoy it for few years.

This is definitely an unusual sentiment in the Vintage Omega sub-forum. There is very little connection between 1960s watches and modern watches from these brands, so most people do not see buying a vintage Seamaster as a substitute for buying a new Omega. If you feel that way ... ok.

A particular vintage Certina could well be a better investment than a particular vintage Omega. It depends on many factors, but the prices of new Certina and Omega watches are not relevant.
