Just jumped back on the speedmaster train the past month. Kinda went a little nuts. But wow. Really refreshing to go into an AD and see inventory.

Apollo 11 anniversary

Couple questions. I bought the 50th naked. Is it possible to buy the box from omega or elsewhere. Also does anyone have any extra links for the 50th. Thanks and look forward to learning a lot on here.

Talk to your local AD or OB about the extra links for the 50th. I was able to buy the entire bracelet through my AD so I'm certain they have single links in their inventory.

That wasn't a normal train, that was a bullet train!
Congrats, great selection.

The answer about getting a box from Omega seems to be no. It was suggested in another thread that if you email the right person at Omega, they could send you a box. I tried that looking for a particular box and received an email from Omega stating that they do not provide boxes. It was pretty unequivocally.

you're likely stuck with Ebay as a source or putting a want to buy thread here on OF.

But you can't wear the box. You could probably wear two on each arm though!

Based on your shoe collection, this is just the start.😁

Again, congrats👍

Agree. The guy I bought it from had box and papers but lost them. He bought it with box and papers. So there is a very small chance I could get them but I doubt it. It’s the only watch I own that’s not complete.

Hope the seller finds them otherwise chances are slim to none to get it complete, hopefully still eligible for warranty when you need it if it's registered at Omega HQ.

It's always amusing when an owner of a fairly recent watch somehow loses the box and papers (and it seems some gold links), it's not exactly a small item to misplace. Hope you got an appropriate price adjustment for the missing box and, more importantly, the missing warranty, pictogram and METAS cards. Also the missing gold links that you now need. Those missing cards do affect the value.

Gold links for the Apollo 11 can be ordered by a boutique or AD, but be prepared to splash out some money.

I have to keep them in a ‘safe’ place so they don’t end up getting tossed in the recycling by my wife. I tend to hold onto boxes for a bunch of stuff and she tends to not understand why.

And importantly, don't let the police find out the serial number of your watch. 😁

Yes I bought the watch right. And from a very well known watch enthusiast. I only have a 200k collection so I know the value of links, box, papers.
And I thought I thought misplacing box papers was nuts when I first started collecting. Why throw away 10%-20% of the watch value. Until I lost the box papers to my first watch.

I’ve ordered links from neighboring state omega AD. I ordered two but think I might need 3. After buying two links at $1,107 a piece I was hoping someone could sell me one or two a little cheaper.

@Ryand140 If you went in with your eyes open knowing it was missing the box, papers and up to three links, great. But you were looking for a replacement box for the watch so it must mean something to you to get the basic kit. I doubt you'll find any links on the open market, links are taken into account when a watch is ever resold, if it's missing links (especially gold links) the marketability of the watch suffers. Enjoy your watch, maybe the seller will find the box, papers and links.

Of course it meant something to me. Just wanted to post on the forum. All I was doing.

That’s one weird watch to not have box and papers with, or to loose. 😗

Also a lot weirder that it was purchased from a watch enthusiast.
(Don’t know how well known if you don’t tell us)

I only have a 200k collection
Bummer. You need to have a minimum of 500k collection to get free info here on OF.

Looking forward to joining the 500k collection club! 😎 Hopefully a nice 1M collection is not considered too pompous for a novice like me?
