Dear forum members, I have owned this Omega De Ville, ref. 111050, cal. 620, 18k case and dial, for some time now. I've only found that a similar one was sold at an auction in 2016, but otherwise I couldn't find any information. Can anyone tell me anything about this watch? Has anyone ever seen one like this before? Any help would be much apreciated! Thank you in advance.
It's a beautiful Omega tank Back in the day Omega really unleashed their creativity, there are so so many models with only few examples, yours is one of them, I'm very interested in tanks and first time seeing this model
I was honestly hoping to find that you had misread a blurry number in the reference, but no... I'm finding exactly the same information you found, so I'm useless. Sorry. It is very nice. It seems like there may have been a diamond on the dial just below "De Ville" that came loose (or is it still there? Hard to see)
Correct; the dial is intact and it is indeed a dot. I have always felt the last “0” in the reference number looked kind of funky, which has also alway puzzled me, however I couldn’t think of a reason to forge that last “0”. The small number in which some models were produced is thrilling!
She is a beauty that's for sure. That's a watch for special tuxedo events like the Oscars and after party
It's just a misalignment of the stamp. I can't add much more, other than your case was made for Omega by Manufacture Favre & Perret based in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Here is a group of "111.XXX" shown in AJTT.
I actually acutely stopped wearing my watch on a daily basis after reading this remark (I was already thinking it was too special to wear every day, but I just liked it too much)! That's great information, thank you. How did you know?
Oh my God please wear the watch all you want. It's just that you MUST also wear it for special events as well
Hi! I own the exact same. Congratulations! Awesome and rare find. Mine came with original papers from 1966. I had my OM dial (not a De Ville but same gold dot as yours) replaced by a white De Ville dial. I did not find much in historical records… and I spent quite a bit of time.
