Hi all, first post!
Purchased my first Omega, which also is my first ever purchase of an "expensive" watch, nothing super exciting, just a Omega Seamaster 300m 41mm blue.
Back story however, I have never been a watch wearer, have purchased a few car related watches over the years but hardly ever wear them, my most expensive previously being a £220 TW Steel "Cupra" watch which was only available in the Netherlands.
My father passed away aged 54 in April after a long battle with the big C, He had a TAG for his 30th, Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust for his 40th and another Rolex OPD for his 50th. In his will I inherited the 40th OPD (picture below)
Dad wore this Rolex everyday, I got it the day after he passed and have been wearing it every single day since, however firstly its not been serviced since 2002 so is long overdue (it actually runs perfectly), its 36mm so a little small. I am also going to a mates wedding in Greece next week and didn't want to take the Rolex, if I lost it, the sentimental value couldn't be replaced. So decided I needed a more everyday watch.
I have placed an order for a Tudor Black Bay GMT (pepsi) but that wont be here till later in the year, I wanted something now to wear everyday, it came down to Tudor Black Bay (red bezel) or the Seamaster 300.
The inner child James Bond fan made me choose the Seamaster! plus I didn't want to have 2x similar Tudor's.
Below is a picture of my storage box, top row are Dad's Gucci I got for my 18th, Seamaster and Rolex OPD, cheap amazon automatic, Guess quartz. Bottom row black diesel quartz, SEAT Sport quartz, Casio SEAT Sport quartz, TW Steel Cupra quartz, CCCP quartz.
