Hi, I’m currently looking for vintage speedmaster, and just found a transitional one, asking some advice from you guys~

Dial: Fair to good dial, there’s few white spot around omega logo, but not sure is it on dial or crystal, lumes looks good, not sure is it relumed before.
Case: Polished before but haven’t lose its shape.
Hands: Dark lume hands looks fine.
Bezel: Fair to good DON bezel
Caseback: Single stepped smooth caseback, looks fine
Bracelet: Polished 1039/516

Overall: It’s not a collector grade speedmaster. And it’s cost about 8500 usd, do you guys think it’s a good deal for daily used watch?

I think you will want to get certainty around the white spots on the dial before making a decision. Hopefully they are just reflections, but if they are spots on the dial, they are noticeable enough to be distracting.

The other issue is the mis-matched lume on hands and dial. Obviously we don't expect the lume to match perfectly, but the contrast is really extreme in this case, and you need to decide if it's appealing to you. Again, I find the difference a bit distracting.

The money shot is the dial, which is really attractive IMO.

I think the watch looks quite good, as pointed out before complete and original.

With the bracelet the price seems OK but -as Dan said- a close up of the dial is needed.

Would be interesting to take a very close look at the lume on the indices in order to be shure they are not relumed

I do not think that there is a problem with bezel

That seems like a good, original watch. Is your suspicion that the dial was relumed based on its difference between the hands? That'd be the one big hold up, but, if it's a good, original dial, $8500 seems roughly in line with a good transitional, if you peg the price of the 1039/516 at $2k.

The point at 90 looks fishy but maybe some more skilled OF member can judge that.

What exactly do you see is wrong with the point at 90? Just elaborate. And, btw, the Lume difference between hands and dial seems fine with me. Two side exposure of the hands do age the hand Lume faster.

I'm not talking about the color differences between hands and dial.

Just want to take a closer look....

I think this is a good one at that price. I doubt those white spots are real. Lume looks original to me. Case decent. Would ask for movement pic.

I love the 68, and I own one or more examples of each reference. And what's this "not collector grade"? I'm a collector, and it's good enough for me. It's a very attractive watch. Collector grade...ha. Who comes up with this stuff?

I just noticed the dial you grade as fair or good. If the dial is damaged, it loses most of its appeal. All about the dial. If the marks I see in the photo are actually on the dial, that's no good.
