Pulled the trigger on a early connie

Hi all,

I pulled the trigger on this 1954 constellation 2782-10.

it is a steel case model with a 354 bumper auto. The crown is an omega crown but not sure for the ref. I did have a 1950 seamaster with a tophat crown so maybe?

the dial has seen better days but it was cheap. Crystal is omega with the embossed logo, everything I could find checked out except the crown.

anyway here are the photos, let me know what you think.

Nice case, looks like it needs a good service.

BTW, that's a bowler crown.

Yes it’s going to have a good strip down and clean when I have the opportunity. I regulated it and it’s holding time but not the point. Needs a service.

Bowler crown, cool I want aware of the description so for that thank you. I’m thinking it isn’t original to this model though.

If anyone can tell me if the crown is for this model or not it would be appreciated? If not what is the original as I would need to source one.

May I ask: over or under $800?
Ahaha I was going to ask too, but refrained 😁
I guess it would be interesting because I personally find very hard to value these watches with a pretty good case but more damaged dial, plus crown to be changed.

No one is obliged to answer 😉 I don t think the dial is "damaged" - this patina is a "true one" .

To answer the question I got it for $1000aud. The crown is not the right one which I know now thank you to theluckyluke for that.
I have been wearing it for 3 days straight with no time deviation.
The dial isn’t a deal breaker and was the reason I could get it cheaper. I don’t mind it but if I ever came across a clean original unmolested dial I’d get it and keep this one on the shelf. I just like the character of it.

Here is a photo after I gave it a rub down with a micro fibre cloth to shine it up.

it looks much better in person but it’s shiny again.

Glad it helped. 😀 The chart is from a crown thread from the forum, for reference.
