PSA: Another eBay Hijack

Looks like the no bids -contact us directly - hijackers are at it again. Poor seller had excellent feedback of over 45k selling kids clothing for almost a decade and this jackass just ruined him.

Look at the other listings and be wary. They are advertising all kinds of rare collectibles and luxury goods that no typical seller would ever have at one time- and the seller history is only clothing. Their MO is to have you wire them money directly and you get nothing and have no recourse.
Undoubtedly the seller has been locked out of their account, images probably stolen from the web and collectors forums like ours, and eBay is slow to respond to hijacks like this.
Spread the word to be skeptical of any seller that tries to force you to deal outside of eBay and report them for it.

I also noticed some offers 2-3 weeks ago, i feel really sorry for the poor account owners 🙁

All of them were reported to ebay, ebay reacted relatively fast but the next day the same high priced watches were back online with new hacked accounts this would go on for three to four days. the last photo was always the request to contact the seller directly.

Unfortunately i didn't take any screenshots.

I can't help myself from thinking that this may be lucrative somehow despite the quick response of the eBay community and eBay itself. Who in the hell falls in this scam?? 🤦

Yeah saw that this morning, too. They had bunch of bogus listings up today all of a sudden. I thought eBay has figured out how to stop these, as there has seemed to be a lull in these types of scams for quite a stretch. But I guess not....

All they need is one person to wire them $10k for a rare item and it’s worth their time. They shut down and move on to another account and leave a wake of destruction in their path. I feel for that poor seller- been in business since ‘11 selling kids clothing- had stellar feedback until this last month- and bam- his entire credibility is shot and he’ll have to start over with a new account.

whats funny too is that the scammer says “no bids” only buy it now off of eBay’s platform. Yet it still has 22 bids. I guess they figured they had nothing to lose with eBay protection.

Or they don’t read descriptions and just bid. There are truly a ton of suckers and idiots in this world.

Not to drift off here but we have two eBay accounts, one with a little shy of 100 positive comments and 99% rating or something like that and another one I just used to buy a couple watches when I forgot the password a while back. Anyway I got an email and a phone call from eBay informing me they increased my “free listings” I think it’s on the account I left dormant for a long time. Has anyone experienced eBay calling you? I’m wondering if some kind of scam is afoot. We couldn’t find anything strange going on with either account yet.

Ha ha that’s the odd thing. They didn’t ask for anything just told me something. Never asked for any type of identifying anything. And my accounts are still solid. I’m trying to figure out what the game is here
