Ha! You have no idea how much time I've spent on forums informing the misinformed that the 3330 is 7750 based, because of that guy...
I may have that exact article book marked 😉

sorry the misunderstanding comes from my side,
i did not want to speak about the 3330 but the 3313,
i did not see my typing error , note that from de begining i talked about the piguet 1285 family 😉

The 3313 was never used in the Mk II racing, or any other Mk II. So you got the caliber incorrect and the watch incorrect in your typos...

I shouldn't have been so distracted by answering of course, for the rest think what you want, but for me writing in a language which is not mine disturbs me a little my thoughts, it is besides to train me at the same time what to talk about passion that I come back here

That was nice to see strong bids on 2998 on the same auction. That one was really nice one!

Yes a nice one - the second best 2998 that I’ve seen! 😉

Your watch is definitely interesting and different, I didn’t realise at first you had one as well, I thought your pictures were of the same watch selling at Phillips. There are a remarkable number of prototypes of various models as well as not for sale watches that leak out of the company and while it has slowed in recent years it still hasn’t stopped either.

you re totally right, i received an email from omega after my contact with them and they well precise that after the test
this prototype should have gone and stayed in the factory...

the worst is that i had bought it for daily use to preserve other watches, given the result of philips i would almost
want to put it in the bank safe and not ride a motorcycle with it anymore

Here is the blurb on both watches…

Ref. 145012-68SP
....

As an added layer of intrigue, Omega has discovered that the mind behind the design of this piece is no other than Frederic Robert. Active since the 1950s in the watch industry (in fact the 1958 Aquastar, one of the very first diver watches, was deigned by Mr. Robert), in the 1960 he became an Omega consultant for professional and maritime watches. It is during this tenure that he designed the present prototype, of which the original sketch was gracefully provided to us by Omega. Mr. Robert’s hand is indeed the same which also designed the Flightmaster of which this watch represents a very early iteration. While maintaining the Speedmaster case and not being a dual-time piece (the central hand is purely a 24-hour hand), one of the principal design elements of the Flightmaster (the large central hand) is already present on this prototype. Mr. Robert will eventually modify the NASA-suggested 24-hour hand in a 12-hour additional timezone hand (thanks to the outer adjustable 12-hour ring) and will case the piece in a futuristic architecture miles away from the one of the Speedmaster.

Grazie.
Ivan (Louis) Robert era il più giovane dei tre fratelli, proprietari dell'azienda Minerva di Villeret ed era il padre di Frederic Robert.
Thank you.
