Knew it. We have to keep snapping these vintage babies rather than keep money in the bank. Not as an investment but a bit of a higher "interest" than what the banks give us.

I'd considered that, but I feel that this change is a potential global inevitability. Operative word: potential.

Moreover, since the watch collecting community is also global I can see this affecting pricing everywhere. You want to but a Rolex in the US from a domestic dealer? Well, their margin just got bigger in the UK by selling online. So why shouldn't they charge you what the price is in the UK?

Word is between 7.5% to 10% depending on watch, some of the TT and PM maybe under this but sought after models likely to be closer to 10% and the rise is Europe wide, no info on the rest of the blue planet. The average rise is apparently 7.4% taking all anomalies into account.

It takes the two watches I was looking to buy in the first quarter of 2020 outside of my watch budget by a considerable margin so rethink of big anniversary purchase is required.

They are doing this so they can hire more personnel and produce more watches. They will finally satisfy the demand, burst the bubble and will get rid of all waiting lists...........::stirthepot::

Well, I can't really blame them with the price differential for Dollar buyers. I mean, 1,5k cheaper for a brand new, AD GMT is a pretty sweet deal. I would imagine this has led to parallel trade, which may have affected US sales.

Partly to realign prices due to exchange rates, and it confirms strength of world economies despite the naysayers who say the sky is falling.

My AD (one of the many brands in WoS group) has told me that the increase is 7.5% across the board, and it is effective ON 31st December

That 7.5% increase is really going to cut in to the 75% profit margin that the flippers try to achieve. 😗

Yeah, ite almost like Apple and their products. How much profit do you think they make on their top end AirPods?

Flippers connect product with customers, it is what it is. They serve a purpose.

When you consider that Explorers and no date Subs sell for around £750 and £2000 above retail, a 7-10% increase will surely start to deter some of the casual, opportunistic flippers. Wishful thinking?
