Hi guys,
So i’ve been looking to buy my first ever vintage Omega for quite a while now and i Think i finally found the one for me. As i wear a tux to work, i’ve looked for something gold toned, but not necessarily solid, hence why i landed with a gold capped one.
Now, i’d like for you experts to help me estimate the price of the watch i’ve found, so that i can be sure not to get completely fooled.
I have some comments on the watch myself:
Dial itself is in a very nice condition with very little to no patina - which is very nice!
The case looks good aswell, it only has a bump at between the 9 and 10 hour marker. The constellation logo on the back has all
Of it’s stars - also very nice. I am however unsure, if this case has been excessively polished, any comments? Please let me know.
Movement is the caliber 551, which checks out. It looks to be in good condition, owner Said he had i serviced for about 350$ a couple of
Months ago. Looks to me, as if it has all the right writings on the movement itself, but please, let me know.
Original Omega band and buckle, in good condition. Original Omega Crown, and not the round one, this is the (is it 10?) sided one. However, this is not original omega glass.
Comes in box, but with No papers.

In what neighbourhood would this watch go for?

Thank you in advance!

Do you have any closeup photos of the dial that are in focus?

From those pictures it's hard to tell how good the condition of the dial is.

I realise this now, i Will try to bring a camera (and not a phone) and take some closeups next time i get to see the watch.
As i’ve seen it first hans, my judgement would be that the dial is definitly not in pristine or “as good as new” condition, it does have very small spots here and there, but otherwise i think it is very nice, when comparing it to other pictures of watches being sold online.

Devil is in all the minutia with Constellations amongst others.
