Pre WW2 Omega

I've been looking at this watch, the seller hasn't stated the cal. nor the model number so I'm having difficulties finding out what it should look like on the Omega database and seeing if it has been redialed. Would anyone be able to advise if this has been redialed and/or polished please? I'm still learning and as this is my first watch, I don't want to make that 'newbie' error. Asking price is £400/$500.

Thanks in advance!

Very rusty and seconds hand is a replacement.

I’d pass.

The dial and case are okay otherwise? I wonder if I can source the original seconds hand

Looks to me like a 26.5 SOB, my initial take would be to say the dial is original, but very shabby around the edges(probably from water damage confirmed by the rust) and as pointed out the seconds hand is wrong. I did a quick search and came across this watch for sale in France:

Thank you!! I think you are right. Where is that one you have found?

I believe it would be very strange to have two watches with identical fonts that are both redials. I would put the colouring down to the varnish, but I’m sure other members would be able to comment on this.

Yes, possibly aged lacquer, but in watches like this that aren't sealed, could be tobacco staining too.
