I have a Speedmaster 311.30.42.30.01.005. Whimsically researching dial swap modifications. Will a 3570.50.00 dial fit.
Yes
I really like the salmon Sedna dial, but that is for the 3861.
Not too long ago someone sold a Speedmaster mod with a 3861 dial on a 1861 movement.
The listing made no mention if the dial had been modified to fit, so compatibility may not be your issue with this. Parts availability for sure will be as you won’t be able to find the Sedna dial as a standalone part.
Not really looking for a reverse panda. Any ideas would be helpful.
This depends on how much you’re willing to spend. Prices have generally gone up since Omega closed the door, which has made modding more challenging and in some instances make less financial sense. Though, if money is no object and it’s burning a hole in your pocket, I know of a website that will happily charge you an arm and a leg for dials/hands
😉.
My biggest suggestion is to search with patience. Connections on this forum can be your biggest asset as well a quick response time for if a deal pops up in our parts section. In 2021 I picked up this TinTin dial from another member on here. A couple months after buying the dial, I bought a 311.30.42.30.01.005 specifically to put the dial in.
And several years later, through a connection/friend on here, I was super fortunate to pick up a TinTin case back.
It is and has been my most worn watch
And through a super lucky turn of events and a quick response time, I bought a Mitsukoshi dial/handset earlier this year from our parts section.
All that to say, it’s hard to make recommendations on mods as parts availability and pricing are huge factors in it. If you like a racing dial, you can always look into the Japan Racing currently available on our forum
