    Hi
I am tying to send a watch to be serviced by courier to a recommended repairer but ouch...
the cost of insurance is steep!
I will be covered for the return package by dealer cover but not on way to him.
Value is £12k , so you might say it’s worth it but £300 for cover seems high?
Any suggestions apart from using someone local?
I’m in West Yorkshire if that’s an option

    cheers

If it's in the U.K. I'd consider driving it to them.

If it's out of the country i use parcel pro.

That is what I would recommend under normal circumstances, it's what I do with anything outside RM Special Delivery insurance or with sentimental value.

However these are not normal circumstances and if you are asked what your journey is about the police would probably regard it as extracting the urine. I do know a well regarded independent watchmaker near Barnsley (South Yorks) but he won't do Omega because he doesn't have a parts account. If the urgency is worth 300 quid then go ahead but I'd wait.

Make sure if you use a third party insurer that they are still insuring parcels at the moment. Currently a signature on delivery is not possible so that might invalidate your insurance.

Don’t know about 3rd part insurers, but fyi rmsd insurance is still valid, even though the post man is signing for you.

Can't the watchmaker help? Who are you using and have you tried talking to them as we all have the same issue and don't usually leave the problem with the customer?

    Cheers, Chris

I haven't used my cars in 3 weeks... Two are on battery conditioners now and I roll them to and fro every week or two to avoid flat spots on the tyres.

    Cheers, Chris
