This a nice dial. Hope the search for the watch to put it in isn’t too hard.
Congrats, I was the underbidder on that...[/QUOTE
Thank you crazy i thought I was going to see it posted here on the forum If I didn’t get it.
This dial is mostly found on gold-plated cases btw, case ref. 400101. Hope you'll manage to find something suitable for it 👍
I like your monodate you got there. I wish I’d have known that I’ve been looking for a solid gold case to put it in. Today On eBay I’ve noticed this gold filled ref I’m going to be watching hopefully this’ll work.
Now that‘s something that I have been wondering about for some time - sometimes, you run into these double signed cases that don‘t feature the inner caseback engravings that you would expect from UG. Instead, there is the name of another manufacturer (like Wadsworth in this example). I have heard that Longines had cases made by other manufacturers in the US. Did UG do the same? And if so, what was the reason? Dodging import taxes on steel? Someone once told me that this was the reason why Rolex had some of their bracelets made in Mexico... if anyone could enlighten me, I‘d be very happy!!
I personally don’t know so I couldn’t tell you 100% but I did go and look at the listing again and I think it my be a frankin watch
cause it has a Longines crown I’m pretty sure Could be a Longines case back ?
