Brought this one out after ages to give it some fresh air. Oversized early Compur.

Lovely. Hard to wear em in the summer!

Hard to wear in the winter as well with the persistent drizzle we get in the PNW. Perfect watch to wear indoors though😜

Another 70s one again for me today having recently acquired it. I can't really believe how affordable these ultra slim watches are.

Some beautiful Universal pieces here. Here's mine, which I picked up from eBay a year or so ago....it has a 'U' crown, but I'm pretty sure the wrong one, as it looks too small for a start. What should it look like? and where might i find one?

here is a pic I saved from someone on this forum (sorry, not sure who though)

^^ I believe that is the correct one. Finding it is like other discontinued parts: eBay, groups, forums, etc

So I've just been chatting to some chap on Facebook about this watch and I have been informed that the case on this has been polished (news to me as the case looks pretty sharp and has the brushing still in place on the top and sides with a strong bevel line) and that the dial is a service dial (as the "Text is just slightly over extended and bold"). Does anyone here think these claims are true?

Interestingly, mine has a sunburst effect on the central black section of the dial, that has browned quite nicely. It didn't come out too well in the shot (i'll try another later) - was this sunburst effect on most/all similar examples? I don't remember seeing it on others, and thought it was a flat matt finish.

What reference nr is it? 869111/01? and a shot of the crown on it?

I don't know anything about these particular models, but offhand, the idea of identifying a service dial on a UG time only because of the text print quality, sounds very far fetched. Unless this person has studied white shadow extensively and has extremely in depth knowledge, I wouldn't worry about it personally
