Beautiful collection, A - some of the nicest ones I've seen, each very interesting in its own right; well curated and well "hustled". Congrats!

P.s. Is the latest addition (the black date) a 218 or 69?

Thank you A! It's a 218-2

Update of my UG, my early 215 is gone so I replaced it with those :

Some work done on this 215-2 with relume and cleaning of the dial and changed the hands for UG ones (unfortunately with no lume) : (sorry for the bad picture!!)

Hello, my grandfather gave this Universal Geneve when I was younger. It is really thin. May I know the model name and where I can find a new strap? Thanks in advance
Pictures?

Late 60's Early mid 70's from SN? Easy to measure with caliper the gap between lugs and have a local shop fit a new strap for you. Lots of on line retailers you can buy from and sizing instructions. Dial is blurry but fonts/logo look familiar to other info in Sala, still possible redial. . Reference/model is the top number and the lower is the SN. I'm sure some of our three hander aficionados can add more. Not worth much. Looks like chromed case.

It's a 32mm all stainless case and the lug width is probably 18mm; inside should be a manual wind calibre 1-42. I have this one:

Despite sharing the same case reference yours has different lugs and bezel; I have no reason to believe that yours is a re-dial. I'd recommend lizard - don't bother looking for a Universal Geneve original strap as any that are available run the risk of being fairly old, dry and prone to cracking. Don't ask me how I know this.

Straps are wear parts so it's doubtful that it's the original.

I agree - I'd also expect to see the feint remains of a logo on the underside. Looking at your earlier photo of the lugs it also looks like a 19mm or 20mm strap that has been squeezed onto your watch to make it fit. As a matter of interest does the other side of the buckle have a UG logo?

Technically not a watch but still nice: desk clock in need of some TLC

My humble entry to this fantastic group. A UG from my collection. Minty Oversized (38 mm) Compax in Rose Gold that graciously came from a fellow member here. The Oxidation on the case gets me every-time. Have a great week fellow OF'ers!

Thank you so much, I turned down 6 uni compax's and missed one at christies over the past 2 years until I was able to secure this one, the conditions are some of the best I've seen on that reference and will be staying with me a while. It's a safe queen like some of my pieces but I wear it a few hours a month before putting it back in the bank. It's a joy
