Once this comes out of the box, it always stays out for a while. One of my “stars”.

Pure luck finding this 138SS bumper 20214! I was just looking for a black dial Polerouter, but this first-gen exceeded all my expectations.

My Evil Nina does not come out often, but is a joy to behold when it does.

Hello everyone,
What do you think- could this Polerouter have originally been sold in a box marked “Dioramic”? They match each other so perfectly that it’s hard for me to believe they were paired together later. I know Dioramic dates to the late 1950s, but based on the movement’s serial numbers, this Polerouter appears to be from 1960.

Does the paperwork and hang tags match the box or watch?

The tags match the watch, but the papers are blank

Then my guess is that the watch with tags was matched with the box outside of the factory.

Maybe at the original retailer, but not likely.

That might have been the case, but this box matches the watch so perfectly that I can actually believe they left the UG factory together. Back then, people didn't pay much attention to details like boxes- unless, of course, someone put this set together recently.
I’m holding the set in my hands right now; I’ve seen a lot in my time and I’m not being naive, but it really looks like the watch has never been worn. It’s as if the whole set was just taken out of a bank vault and sold. Both the box and the watch are in mint condition!

I showed this set on the UG Facebook group and ended up getting more inquiries about the box than the watch itself. That really says a lot about how rare these snake boxes are today and how difficult they are to source. Realistically, a set like this either left the retailer together back in the day or was put together many years ago- doing it now would be extremely difficult.
